Entertainment Industry's Largest Payroll Company Embracing the Cloud for Greater Client Experience
BURBANK, Calif., September 5, 2018 (Newswire.com) - Entertainment Partners (“EP”), the leading global end-to-end provider of production workforce management and automated production services to the entertainment industry, has made strategic investments in moving its database and server operations exclusively to AWS (Amazon Web Services). This move will enhance the overall customer experience, translating into even higher availability and faster application performance for users. Clients can expect these changes to be implemented before the end of 2018.
With AWS regions on the East and West Coasts, as well as Europe, EP clients will enjoy better performance as they use EP solutions such as SmartAccounting and Scenechronize. Additionally, leveraging AWS will provide better customer back up and archiving abilities. EP’s migration to AWS also strengthens its disaster recovery coverage, including full fail-over capabilities, to make EP’s client data even more secure than before.
This is a significant investment for EP and a big deal for our clients. Migrating key components and key architectures to the Cloud gives clients an immediate benefit in the short run, but will only serve to facilitate progress on our SmartStudio suite of products over time.

With a vision to deliver a best-in-class user experience, EP has put its technology front and center. Its comprehensive production management platform, SmartStudio, is turning that vision into a reality, and the move to AWS is a key component to furthering the Company’s evolution.
“This is a significant investment for EP and a big deal for our clients. Migrating key components and key architectures to the Cloud gives clients an immediate benefit in the short run, but will only serve to facilitate progress on our SmartStudio suite of products over time,” commented EP’s Chief Technology Officer, Patrick Baca. “We’re striving to offer a premium client experience, and utilizing AWS for stability and innovation will further enable us to deliver quality products, and modernize digital production.”
EP is also innovating its security with AWS as a strategic infrastructure partner.
“End to end-user security is a top priority at EP,” remarks SVP and Chief Information Security Officer, Martin Mazor. “AWS offers advanced security protection through additional reporting and monitoring. Our clients are going to experience better overall performance as they use our solutions and should feel higher confidence about the security, redundancy, and availability of their data.”
